You Shall Know Our Velocity, like many books in their inaugural printings, has a few typos in it. The main production glitch appears on page 103, where a line has been obscured, due to the interaction with the image on page 102. The text that should appear at the top of page 103 is as follows:

is thinking. How does he feel his flight? Does he know the dif-

We hope that clarifies things. In many other places, what seem to be production oddities are intentional. The blank pages soon after are as designed.

We'll be sure to correct page 103 if we reprint the book.

There is some confusion as to the number of copies made available. Some have reported that we printed five copies. Others told us there was one edition being mailed from person to person. And the last person to tell us of such things quoted seven million as the number of published books. We would like to clarify that we printed 50,000 copies. Of that, there are 10,000 special editions, available only through our online store.

One report circulating concerns the special edition copies being signed before going into the mail to you. Unfortunately, this is not the case. While we would love to be able to have all of our authors pre-sign books before mailing, as we learned from Lawrence Krauser, a person's hand can get tired really fast. Furthermore, our books are well kept in a warehouse in Boston, Massachusetts, while the hands needed to sign the book were in San Francisco, California. As such, the rules of time and space did not permit those hands writing on those books. If you bring your copy of the book with you to a reading, Dave Eggers will be more than happy to put his pen to it.
