Just in time for Valentine's Day,
the Guardian in London has
reviewed and raved about
The Secret Language of Sleep.
And, for the rest of the week,
you can buy it for $5!

The event is to celebrate the release of McSweeney's Issue 6. This issue features music by They Might Be Giants, and M. Doughty of Soul Coughing fame. This event also features these people. It also features many of the writers and artists in this issue. Like the issue, the event will meld, in a very interesting way, music and art. And words. Huh. Here is the lineup: Music-wise: Writer-wise: Artist-wise: All of these people will be presenting their work. Some of the show will feature slides projected onto the screen behind the stage. After the writers read their stories, the musicians will play the songs they wrote to accompany these stories. The event will be hosted by John Hodgman and Dave Eggers. There will be a special appearance by Neal Pollack. After the first portion of the show, which will combine readings and music, They Might Be Giants will do a short set alone, them and their music. The night will be a good night. The event begins at 9pm. Doors open at 8 pm. The Bowely Ballroom is in New York City. Tickets are $20. This is a benefit for Reading Is Fundamental (RIF). Tickets are available at the Mercury Lounge box office, 217 E. Houston St, 212-260-4700, or through TicketWeb, ticketweb.com, 212-269-4849.
