- - - - NEW YORK, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Loud Records/Hypnotize Minds' rap group THREE 6 MAFIA is set to release "When The Smoke Clears - Sixty 6, Sixty 1" on June 13. "When The Smoke Clears - Sixty 6, Sixty 1" is the group's first release in three years. It reunites the original members of Three 6 Mafia, founding members, JUICY "J," DJ PAUL, along with GANGSTA BOO, LORD INFAMOUS, CRUNCHY BLACK. In 1997, Hypnotize Minds the Memphis, Tennessee-based label that is home to Three 6 Mafia, signed to Relativity Records (Hypnotize Minds is now on Loud Records through a Loud/Relativity merger). Since that time, the label has released five albums on the group and its members, selling over 2 million records to date. This feat makes them the first rap group out of Memphis to achieve national stature. The group is best known for their raw energy and bouncy anthems that could be heard on their late 90's hit, "TEAR DA CLUB UP." "With When The Smoke Clears ..." Three 6 rhymes over 21 tracks, that are referred to by the group as a "buck-wild ghetto rap and rock-roll" brand of flavor. The album features cameos from the Hypnotize Camp's PROJECT PAT, T-ROCK and LA CHAT, The INSANE CLOWN POSSE with TWIZTID, GOODIE MOB'S BIG GIPP, Houston-based rap group UGK and NO LIMIT'S MR. SERVE ON and FIEND. "Sippin' on Syrup," featuring UGK, the first single off of "When The Smoke Clears", is a song that refers to a pastime popular among Sun Belt heads. "It's a prescription drug that's like cough syrup," J. said. "If you drink something like Nyquil and that mellows you out, then this stuff will put you straight out on the floor. This song is the kind of track you would listen to when you're high off of that." Because of its popularity (the video was added to BET and radio stations across the country without hesitation), "Who Run It," a single from the successful compilation CD, "Three 6 Mafia Presents Hypnotize Camp" Posse, has been added to "When The Smoke Clears." Insane Clown Posse shows up on "Just Another Crazy Clique." DJ Paul states, "We've always been fans of Insane Clown Posse, so we called them up to invite them to record with us and found out that they were fans of our music too. From that point on we clicked." Three 6 Mafia is tentatively set to embark on a 31-city promotional tour across the country starting on June 2 in Birmingham, AL. and running through August 12 in New York.
