A math-lover looking to major in engineering, this resident of Bernal Heights has nothing but gratitude for his supportive parents, which you can read more about here.
Last year, 826 National started ScholarMatch, a way for students to “crowdsource” funds for college through a website much like kiva.org and kickstarter.com. Last summer, we were able to send 56 students to college this way. Now it’s June, and there are over 100 students on the ScholarMatch site, all of them in dire need of funds to help them pay for college in the fall. These students, by and large, do not need vast sums of money. But these small gaps are often the difference between whether or not they attend college in the fall. Please visit ScholarMatch.org and see what a huge difference you can make. Donations of any size are appreciated and will make an impact.
